Quick Overview

A must watch DVD for any fan or player of Beach Volleyball as well as any sports fan!

Narrated by the AVPs, electrifying and popular former announcer, Chris Geeter McGee, this one hour DVD Slideshow version of Artie Couvillon's book "SANDS OF TIME" Volume #1 is a pictorial history of Men and Women's Beach Volleyball, including its roots that began with the invention of the indoor game.

Volume #1 is the first DVD of the three
volume DVD Series covering the complete history of Men and Women's beach volleyball.

This is the DVD Series that volleyball players and fans have been waiting for! This is the first DVD Slideshow that has
been devoted primarily to the history of Beach Volleyball!

The 1 Hour Slideshow includes some beach volleyball stories and anecdotes along with nearly 1,000 photographs, as well as some video, of the events, venues, crowds and players of Beach Volleyball.

The Slideshow begins with the invention of Volleyball in 1895 and includes information regarding the first years of volleyball, as well as illustrating how the indoor game contributed to the "motivation and conception" of the beach game.

The Slideshow continues with the birth of Beach Volleyball in 1915, revealing the "Birth" of Beach Volleyball at
Hawaii's Outrigger Canoe Club, on the sands of Waiki Beach. The DVD Slideshow then discloses how the game made its way to the sands of California after this "First Documented" Beach Volleyball game was played on the sands Waikiki Beach.

You are then guided through beach volleyball's "Golden Years" of Beach Volleyballs development during the 1930's,
1940's and the 1950's. There are many classic and rare photo's of the players, characters and venues of this era, including
the 1957 extravaganza on Santa Monicas State Beach.

The final section of Volume #1 covers the 1960's, referred to as the "Adolescent" years of Beach Volleyball. This section
includes photo's and stories of some of the most unbelievable events, characters and players in the history of the game.
