Quick Overview

This full color 386 page perfect-bound (8 ½" x 11") book features 87 of the Notable “Beach” volleyball teams that have teamed-up together since the invention of volleyball in 1895 through the 2016 Pro-Beach volleyball season.

Each and every team is evaluated and critiqued by the Author as well as several of the Pioneers and Legends associated with the game of beach volleyball. Notable teams such as: Jean Brunicardi with Johnette Latreille, Gene Selznick with Ron Lang, Kathy Gregory with Mikki McFadden, Mike O’Hara with Mike Bright, Butch May with
Eileen Clancy, Ron Lang with Ron Von Hagen, Kathy Gregory with Nancy Cohen, Greg Lee with Jim Menges, Karch Kiraly with Sinjin Smith, Sinjin Smith with Randy Stoklos, Tim Hovland with Mike Dodd, Karolyn Kirby with Liz Masakayan, Karch Kiraly with Kent Steffes, Phil Dalhausser with Todd Rogers, Kerri Walsh Jennings with Misty May Treanor and many many more Notable teams.

Each Notable team selection is accompanied with relevant photos, some of which are rare and/or classic photos. All-toll, there are nearly 1,000 photos, mostly “Full-Color”

TEAMS: A Selection Of Notable Beach Volleyball Teams, includes some volleyball teams that are Notable for their personality and/or uniqueness, such as: The first ever volleyball team, first time beach volleyball team, first time Olympic team, first time Olympic Gold Medal team and teams that were unique just because of the way that they interacted with each other and/or the fans, such as: Steve Obradovich and Gary Hooper, “OB” and “Hoop” were un-matched when it comes to a fiery attitude on the beach volleyball court. They would yell and scream at each other as much as they would at their competition.

There are also individual players that are Notable because of their longevity and the number of partners that they teamed-up with, such as Albert “Al-B”Hannemann, who as a player on the men’s Pro-Beach volleyball tour for nearly 20 years, teamed-up with 55 different partners, more partners than any other player in the history of men’s Pro-Beach volleyball and Marla O’Hara, known for her longevity on the Pro-Beach volleyball tour, entering a total of 239 events, over a 26 year period and, for her adeptness to play with 44 different partners, more than any other female player in the history of the various Pro-Beach volleyball tours.

In addition to all of the above mentioned Notable teams are the Notable volleyball Innovators, such as William G. Morgan, the inventor of volleyball and George David “Dad” Center, innovator of the first recorded moment in history that anybody ever played a game of volleyball on the sands of any beach. Announcers, such as Chris Marlowe and Paul Sunderland, who became the voices of beach volleyball and Chris 'Geeter” McGee, the on-site announcer for the AVP, where he was known as “The Face of the AVP.” Also the “Volleydollies” that have teamed-up to promote the game of volleyball. Although not unique to the sport of beach volleyball, women have teamed-up to participate in the promotion of the sport, since it’s early beginnings. Over the years, for lack of a better label, “Volleydollies” is a term that has been attached to these women: Sunbathers, Fans, Tournament Queens, Beauty Contestants, Hollywood Starlets, Cheerleaders as well as the Players themselves. Over the years, these Notable women have formed a unique partnership with beach volleyball that continues to illuminate the scene and amplify the level of excitement at beach volleyball events all over the World.
